Walmart Neighborhood Market to Anchor Everest Place Near Disney

Everest Place, the highly anticipated $1 billion mixed-use resort near Disney, has officially secured a grocery anchor for its expansive retail center along U.S. 192 at the Western Beltway S.R. 429 interchange. A new Walmart Neighborhood Market is set to enhance the convenience and accessibility of the development.

Walmart Neighborhood Market Plans Filed

Developer Zafir Rashid has submitted construction plans for a 50,000-square-foot Walmart Neighborhood Market, which will be built on a six-acre parcel in the northwest corner of the Everest Place site. This location currently houses the construction trailer and sales office.

Walmart will spearhead the store’s development with designs crafted by Harrison French & Associates, an architecture firm based in Bentonville, Arkansas. The civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying are being handled by CPH, Inc. of Sanford.

Everest Place: A Transformative Mixed-Use Development

Spanning 217 acres from U.S. 192 to Funie Steed Road, Everest Place is poised to become a premier destination featuring resort hotels, branded condominiums, residential apartments, medical offices, and a dynamic retail hub. The project’s master plan includes 100,000 square feet dedicated to dining, shopping, and a medical campus, both positioned at the northern end of the development.

Throughout construction, Lake Eola Park will remain open to the public, ensuring continued access to its recreational spaces and attractions.

Progress on Everest Place Construction

Since breaking ground in 2022, Everest Place has undergone extensive horizontal construction. The site is now fully graded, and a newly constructed man-made lake will serve as the master stormwater retention pond. Additionally, underground utilities are currently being installed to support the first two hotels planned for the development—Nickelodeon Resort and Mysk Resort. However, vertical construction timelines remain uncertain as building permits have yet to be filed by the developer.

Nickelodeon Resort: A Family-Friendly Getaway

One of the most exciting additions to Everest Place is the Nickelodeon Resort, an 11-story hotel complex that will offer family-friendly accommodations overlooking the resort’s central lake. The 543,000-square-foot property will include two distinct towers: a hotel with 211 guest rooms and a condominium tower featuring 181 units, each capable of accommodating up to 12 guests.

Currently in pre-sales, the Nickelodeon-themed condos are available in three configurations: studio, one-bedroom (with a bunk room), and two-bedroom (with a bunk room). Each unit includes a full kitchen, living space, and a balcony, providing guests with access to the resort’s world-class amenities. Families will also enjoy themed experiences, including character interactions and Nickelodeon’s signature slime events.

Outdoor amenities at the Nickelodeon Hotel will feature a pool and lazy river, kids’ play area, and amphitheater. There’s also an Aqua Bites café and Slimulator. (Rendering by GVA)

Mysk Hotel: A Unique Addition to Everest Place

This will be the first hotel to rise in the 224-acre resort district and will be followed closely by the 12-story Mysk Hotel and residences, which are being co-developed by Teramir Group and Dubai-based Shaza Hotels.

The Mysk will be one of two conservative-lifestyle hotels within the larger resort — a first for the U.S. market. Designed to accommodate observant travelers and open to people of all faiths, it will not serve alcohol, and all restaurants will serve Halal and Kosher food. The resort will also include a women’s club with spa services, private pools, a gym, a yoga studio, and a café.

Conclusion

The addition of Walmart Neighborhood Market to Everest Place underscores the project’s goal of creating a fully integrated community that caters to both residents and tourists. As construction progresses, Everest Place is set to become one of the most sought-after destinations near Disney, offering a seamless blend of hospitality, entertainment, and everyday conveniences.
